Magical Bali Retreat
Bali, Indonesia

Saturday 10th - Saturday 17th FEBRUARY 2024

"It takes courage to say yes to rest and play, in a culture where exhaustion is seen as a status symbol" - Brene Brown

Let Mama Bali hold you in her nurturing hands.  Learn a tool kit of self care strategies to take home
from this retreat, to nourish your soul.  Receive potent transmissions that will level up your manifestation of the dreams your heart has been whispering to you.

Without learning new tools, ideas and roadmaps how can our dreams come alive? Take that leap of faith and invest in your own transformation by stepping off the treadmill and taking time out of your everyday life.

Come away with me on this Adventure Retreat - Restore, Revive & Dream.

Karen has always been a mover, studying dance from a young age. She returned to mindful movement as her main form of exercise to help her cope with grief, a fast-paced London life and bringing up three daughters. High powered workouts no longer provided the grounding and centering she needed and through Yoga she discovered a sense of calm and resilience. Karen credits her main teacher Tania Brown for inspiring her to delve deeper into the ancient traditions and become a teacher of Yoga.  She trained initially (200hrs) in London with Yogahaven lead by Allie Hill and Amy MacDonald. As a professional singer and voice practitioner she has always known the importance of breath but as a yogi she has truly come to deeply understand the benefits to mind and body. Studying further training in Yogic breath work with Michael Bikyer YogaLap Jan 2021. Karen completed her 300Hr advanced training in 2021 studying with Sianna Sherman and Greta Hill – the Rasa Collective – a tantric based yoga practise which incorporates deep dives into mudra (healing hand gestures) mantra (chanting sacred Sanskrit) and is focused on welcoming the whole individual on this alchemical journey. Embracing ourselves, the light and the dark all emotions (Rasas) without judgement. Rasa Yoga has helped Karen to combine all her strengths and align fully with her Dharma using her voice as healing medium integrating chanting into her practice.  Exploring the connection of breath, voice and body and utilising yoga as a form of mind body transformation for all.

The morning will begin with a dynamic Vinyasa Flow to energise you for the day ahead. Evenings we will have a more relaxed practice. Both classes take place in the on site Shala which is open to nature.

8:00 - 9:30 AM JUNGLE AWAKENING YOGA - A Dynamic Vinyasa Style practise (suited to all levels) including Pranayama (breath-work). Awaken the spine and body overlooking the magnificent jungle ravine.  Build strength and explore your own boundaries and challenges.

11:00 Free time to relax in the Villa and surrounds. Enjoy the swimming pool, read a book or book yourself a Spa treatment at the Villa. Or you could adventure further a field, exploring UBUD's many local cafes and shops within a 15 min walk or quick taxi ride. Lunch will be taken outside the villa.

5.30- 7 PM  YOGA - RESTORATIVE YOGA PRACTISE - This session will be more gentle and include some voice activation, chanting Mantra and Meditation

On Sunday night we'll have a Welcome Dinner with Balinese dancers, and on Friday night a Farewell Dinner with flower mandala.

Lunch and Dinner will generally be taken outside the Villa, except for welcome and farewell dinners. This allows us to explore local cuisine in the myriad of wonderful vegan, vegetarian and fusion restaurants together in UBUD.

Balinese culture is famous for it’s water healing ritual
s, the main one being a Visit to the Water Temple. On Wednesday we will take part in a Balinese Water Purification Ceremony at the nearby Pura Tirta Empul Temple. After a tour of the temple and holy water cleansing by a Mangku (Balinese Priest), you will submerge your head under the stream of water in the sacred water pools. This ceremony helps flush all impurities from your body, mind and soul. You can read more details here.

This is another day trip possibility - where there are many offerings, including light & sound healing experiences, breathwork meditations and cacao ceremonies. See more details here.

The villa's amazing staff take great pride in preparing all food on the premises and strive to create dishes that are beyond guests' expectations. They run a completely gluten free kitchen at the villa and we even make their own bread, baked on the premises.

Meals are generally based on traditional Balinese cuisine and come with a twist.

Breakfasts are both delicious and nutritious, using fresh seasonal produce and organic produce if it is available. There is a fresh drinks menu that you can order from throughout your day, as well as having a selection of herbal teas on tap all day.  Fresh, filtered drinking water is also plentiful. Or why not, when in Bali, do as the Balinese do and simply grab a young coconut, from the coconut stand, and sip the refreshing juice using an organic straw which is made from the papaya tree's leaf stems.

"I had such a great time on Karen's yoga retreat. The classes

dynamic in the morning and Yin in the evening were a lovely balance and the instruction made it accessible for all levels.   The house was stunning and the location was glorious with surrounding countryside breathtaking.  The meals were delicious shared alfresco with lovely people.  We didn't want to leave at the end of the week.  All in all a wonderful experience- one I'd love to repeat." - Nicky
